Job Description:
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of Christian Aid’s Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) division in London. You will be supporting LAC’s advocacy work on specific issues currently in the themes of conflict, governance and human rights. The work covers the whole of the LAC region but presently has a special focus on Colombia. The postholder is expected to work flexibly and pro-actively and to make the most of opportunities as they arise. One of the increasing areas of work is on climate change and the postholder would be expected to contribute in this area too. A wealth of research and information is already available from the LAC region and needs to be used in the most effective way possible in furtherance of Christian Aid’s essential purpose. A key part of the role is liaising with and influencing others both internally and externally.Qualifications:
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have significant experience of international development, analysis and policy work. You will be fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish. A good knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is also desirable. You will have experience of work on advocacy and lobbying work to various audiences including government and international decision-makers.
