As an Automated Logistical Specialist in the Army National Guard, you will learn the ins and outs of supply chain management, from storage and distribution to warehouse management and record keeping. You will join a team that makes sure Guard units are equipped to respond to any challenges put before them. This vital role ensures the Guard’s overall state of readiness while giving you the experience you need to begin or further a career in supply chain or warehouse management.

As a Soldier in the Army National Guard, you join an elite group of warriors who train part-time to be ready full-time, should their State or Nation call them to serve. The Guard is the oldest branch of the military and its members have a long and noble history of serving at home and abroad to ensure the safety and freedom of their fellow citizens.

Major duties

* Establishes and maintains stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting, and supply reports
* Establishes and maintains automated and manual accounting records, posts receipts and turn-ins, and performs dues-ins and dues-outs accounting
* Reviews and verifies quantities received against bills of lading, contracts, purchase requests, and shipping documents
* Unloads and stores incoming supplies and equipment
* Maintains stock locator system and administers document control procedures
* Processes requests and turn-in documents at direct support level through warehousing section
* Performs prescribed load list and shop stock list duties in manual and automated supply applications
* Prepares, annotates, and distributes shipping documents
* Operates material-handling equipment

Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED (If you do not have a diploma or GED, you may still apply – ask a recruiter about how the Army National Guard can help you earn your GED)
* Must be between the ages of 17 and 42
* Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral guidelines
* Must have normal color vision
* Must be able to lift very heavy objects
* Must meet citizenship requirements
