Metallurgist - Mineral/Metal/Mining

Metallurgist Job: Engineering firm has immediate need for an Extractive Metallurgist at its suburban Tucson, AZ location for a six month temp-to-perm position. Ideal candidate will have a BSChE or BS Metallurgical Engineering (advanced degree desired) and 5 - 8 years direct experience in mineral and metal extraction from mining operations, P.E. license is desired. Must have in depth knowledge of metallurgical unit processes, equipment and technologies; must have experience with computerized modeling / simulation programs; Spanish language ability is highly desirable; must have excellent written and verbal skills and be well versed in MS Office Suite. Position will contribute as project team member in the fields of extractive metallurgy and heavy industrial chemicals produced from natural feed-stocks; will supervise / perform tasks of process engineering on studies, projects and technical proposals; usually acts as lead process engineer on one large project or on several smaller projects, proposals, studies and is responsible for routine management of all process engineering functions under direction of project manager; develops process design, technical development and plant start-up required for project execution.
