The Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor position is a one year term position with the possibility of an extension. Reporting to the Director of Learning, Evaluation and Accountability Department, the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor will provide technical support to the Program Division in the functional area of monitoring and evaluation (M&E), especially in the field of humanitarian interventions. S/he will work in close collaboration with our Humanitarian Response Department and Oxfam International Humanitarian Consortium and:

(a) Develop (and improvise) appropriate tools, methods, quality standards and frameworks for assessing the quality and effect of our interventions;
(b) Design and vet TOR’s for evaluations;
(c) Coordinate with research institutes and consultants and ensure timely delivery evaluation studies;
(d) Monitor and assess quality standards of evaluative research;
(e) Facilitate knowledge management processes around evaluative research.

Requirements: A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in the social sciences; minimum five to seven years experience in research and evaluation with a special focus on humanitarian work, including the gender based evaluation; experience working with organizations engaged in international development and social justice work; experience in process-oriented and participatory evaluation methodologies.
