Job Description

The Security Consultant role includes both planning and training services. The planning role is a typical Security Risk Assessment of multiple locations, submission of a Security Risk Report and the establishment of a customized and localized Security Plan for Diakonie's Pakistan Mission.

The training role involves the typical delivery of Personal Security Training and communication of Security Plan to employees.

Specifics of Job Description:

- Establishment of Project Plan to undertake Security Risk Assessment and Security Plan.
- Conducting Security Risk Assessment in multiple locations. Security Risk Assessment should include identification of overall country security risk level, vulnerability assessment of Islamabad and Kashmir office, local, expatriate personnel, project activities / approaches employed and submission of Corrective Action Plan.
- Preparing a comprehensive Threat Assessment to include all locations in the areas where Diakonie staff are present and operational;
- Working together with local Law Enforcement and Security Resources, conducting and arranging meetings with United Nations Offices and bodies, local and International NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) and other relevant organizations within the region.
- Working with and leading Diakonie's local team at all phases of the assignment.
- Establishment of customized and localized Security Plan for the Pakistan Mission of DKH.
- Delivery of Personal Security Training and communication of Security Plan to employees.
- Regular informal updates on findings and progress to relevant Diakonie project staff.

A smaller, yet substantial, part of the job will be to undertake a range of job related administrative and organizational tasks within the Diakonie Pakistan Office as part of the team.

Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in Security Planning and Security Training for the international humanitarian aid community such as UN bodies, NGOs and other aid organizations is a must.
- Ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
- Former project experience in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and/or South East Asia is preferable.
- Ability to work well in teams and good at interpersonal communication.
- Tactical and diplomatic.
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity and the local culture, including gender sensitivity.
- Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of local languages of the mission area is an asset.
- Well organized and self-disciplined; ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
- Good working knowledge of relevant computer software.

Duration: no longer than 1 month, Contracted Consultant Agreement
