Job Description

PSI Sudan Headquarters Office, Juba - South Sudan

Population Services International (PSI) is a global organization that is working with more than 1,000 partners in over 60 countries to improve people’s health and quality of life.

PSI Sudan, headquartered in Juba, is dedicated to serve the health of Southern Sudanese communities. As the program grows, PSI Sudan is looking for a highly qualified and experienced candidate for the Logistics Manger position.

Based in Juba, the successful candidate will report to the Director of Finance and Operation and supervise the Logistics Officers, Warehouse Officers, and Logistics Assistants.

POSITION OBJECTIVES
1.Develop and maintain the logistics structure to effectively and efficiently support the organization’s production, distribution, and sales activities.
2.Manage the logistics department to balance among on-time delivery, total delivery cost, and inventory level that are appropriate to the organization’s operation activities.
3.Drive continuous improvement throughout the logistics operation.

1.Oversee all the aspects of logistics activities for PSI Sudan
2.Hire, develop and manage the logistics team
3.Contribute to PSI Sudan’s strategy development and implementation

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Source, select and initiate contracts or agreements with transportation or logistics services providers, based on the overall best value that consider quality, on-time delivery, delivery cost, and reliability.
2.Evaluate the performance of transportation and logistics services providers.
3.Manage and control the movement of products and ensure all the movement records are correct and well maintained.
4.Monitor the integrity of products during the movement and storage.
5.Monitor the management of PSI Sudan’s warehouses located in different regions.
6.Hire and develop the logistics team, ensure the required skills are in place, and the team members understand their importance and contribution to the success of the organization.
7.Follow and refine the logistics and warehouse operating procedures and monitor the performance of those procedures
8.Establish and maintain key performance metrics to track performance of the logistics department and the individual logistics staff
9.Prepare and control the department budget in a timely manner
10.Be responsible for the accuracy and on-time submission of monthly inventory report
11.Participate in the development of delivery strategy for specific projects
12.Contribute to the development of PSI Sudan’s strategy and provide leadership and support in the development of the culture of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education
- A bachelor degree is preferred

2. Professional skills/knowledge
- More than 5 years experience in supply chain or logistics, including 3 years experience in a management role
- At least 2 years working experience with an NGO or UN organization in Southern Sudan.
- Knowledge of the transportaion and storage of health products is desired.

3. Language
- English fluency is required.
- Juba Arabic is desired.

4. Computer Skills
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
