GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will take responsibly for the metallurgical operation at Barrick Gold of North America mine sites to include assigned duties that require Metallurgical assistance, management or guidance. The candidate will also be involved with the day-to-day safe production, plant improvements & economic development, instrumentation, quality control and trouble shooting problems. The candidate must possess leadership skills and capabilities demonstrating a willingness to provide coaching and enhancement of team play through fulltime participation in Barrick programs. The Candidate must be able to work closely with production, maintenance supervision and outside departments to ensure environmental compliance and safe functionality of plant operation and maintaining of equipment. The candidate must be able to direct, train and evaluate skills of subordinates and providing coaching for development. SELECTION CRITERIA



BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Minerals/Chemical Engineering or equivalent Process related degrees required.

· Minimum five to ten (5-10) years experience in Metallurgical Operations, Engineering and/or Laboratory environment preferred.

· Knowledge of the principles & methods used in complex metallurgical and processing analysis, hands on practical application and process optimization is highly preferred.

· Able to research, analyze information and draw conclusions, and take action to resolve operational, environmental issues, permit compliance and problem resolution from an operating plant status required.

· Proficiency in multiple software applications and network platforms required.

· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required.

· Supervisory experience preferred.


· Ability to work and construct a team environment that creates and enhances the Barrick vision through understanding and capture of future opportunities required.

· Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of position required.
