Position: Senior Operating Officer
Reports to: VP Operations
Time Base: Full-time
Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Relief International, a humanitarian non-profit agency with the vision and commitment to saves lives and sustaining livelihoods, is searching for Senior Operating Officer (SOO) with significant experiences in managing a non-for-profit organization. Under the supervision of the VP Operations (VPO), the SOO is responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization's entire administrative and operational activities to ensure that the planning, execution and administration of all Relief International's (RI) programs, services, and systems are in alignment.


* The SOO and the VP Operations will work together on organizational strategy and all operational issues covering the Operations Department (domestic and international), Grants & Contracts Management & Compliance Department, and their essential cross-relations with Programs Department and Finance Department.
* The SOO will work with the VPO to assure that the outcomes of all above Operational aspects achieve the organization's strategic programmatic goals and strengthen internal management and team building.
* The SOO and Finance Director/Senior Finance Officer will work together to implement and execute all required or desirable new financial models and tools.
* Establish internal operating policies & procedures and implement programs that meet RI goals and objectives.
* Provide oversight of all Operations including quality management, purchasing, shipping/receiving, inventory control, and safety.
* Develop and oversee complete information systems that produce reports and provide accountability over the complete procurement, logistics & inventory management chain.
* Provide oversight of all Grants & Contract Management activities and their compliance with USAID & other donor regulations.
* Provide the essential linkages and cross flow of information and the establishment of best procedural practices between Finance Section, Program Directors and Desks, Operations, Administration, Emergency Response and other sections.
* Devise RI global security guidelines for all RI programs to provide a consistent organizational security plan and provide an active advisory role to HQ and field staff on security related issues and incidents.


* Master's degree from an accredited institution in international affairs, business, management, international development or related field.
* Minimum of 5-7 years previous experience in wide ranging operations management.
* Minimum 5 years experience in international NGO context.
* Proficiency in program development and implementation, budgeting and finance, and USAID regulations.
* Ability to manage a complex and diverse organization in a progressive and consistent manner.
* Ability to make sound decision-making and excellent problem solving skills.
* Excellent written & verbal communications and computer literacy skills required.
